Thank you, Mike!
But the last two statements I have posted have nothing which is not mentioned in that page I have invoked above.
I do not find normal at all to have different logic results if I change in the ORDER BY the first position with the second.
And I do not feel normal at all to need much more than the simple DML statement to know what the result will be. The execution plan is something in the "black box" called database server. Sure, for deeper knowledge I need to know it but only to figure out the result set, the statement itself should suffice by all means.
About being rude:
I never wanted or intended to be rude. But at the same level I need to feel the respect from the people that intend to interact with us. So kindly please let me ask you something that does not want to fit into my pattern of education:
1. It is clear even from a high flying plane that the original question is why the change in ORDER BY leads to different results.
2. It is also clear from the same high flying plane that Mr. Uri Dimant is a very clever person and a highly trained professional.
3. It is also clear that in his answer there is no tiny, tiny, tiny mention about ORDER BY, which was in the debate.
4. His post is the first post for the problem.
5. He does not find time to explain why he posted a link without any visible relation to the ORDER BY - which is the reason of the debate,
6. He does find time to mention he is "SQL Server MVP" and to post other 4 links which are not related to the posted problem but show clearly what a smart human being he is,
7. His last sentence here: "I am sure you will find the answer... Good luck." really means also "see if you can without my infinite expertise".
I really believe that all the 7 points above are "the very essence of rudiness" but nobody seem to be willing to see that and even less to tax it accordingly.
Am I to blame because I do not accept to "raise hymns to the best professional ever; who has, in his limitless goodness, dropped a few grains of his knowledge to us, mortals" even if these drops have enough relevance or not?
Should I accept the feeling that only Afro-American people has ever sufferd as so called "nigger on plantation"? And all that without a normal reaction of rejection?
We all were insulted at least 7 times by the posts of this person.
If I am wrong, kindly please indicate me at least a single word in his first post that leads, after a common sense degree of research, to an answer to the given problem.
If the feeling of anyone on this post would receive satisfaction, I can humiliate myself up to pay to Mr. Uri Dimant a small (according to my small financial powers) monthly fee to express my gratitude for everything one may imagine I am in his debt. I can make even more to pay for my tremendous mistake if required.
