I was actually just coming to comment on the word count of the text I've been testing. With ~2500 words in the RichEditBox (roughly 25kb when saved as a .txt) it becomes nearly unusable. At ~5000 words it is absolutely unusable, typing lags behind my key presses by seconds.
Edit: As an aside, I ran it again and got it to ~10000 words before becoming unusable. It seems to vary based on what exactly I'm writing in there, which leads me to believe it's something to do with they way it's rendering the text?
Clearly for word processing that's not good, for writers that might want well over a hundred thousand words in a document, it simply wouldn't be possible with the way it's running on my system.
In case it might help, some system specs:
4GB of DDR3 RAM, Intel Core 2 U7300 @1.7GHz, Intel 4 Series Graphics.
