To expand on that advice.
Exceptions are wrapped by another exception each level as they bubble up the stack.
You want the inner most exception.
You get that using GetBaseException:
Console.WriteLine(ex.GetBaseException().ToString() );
Or if it's in debug and you hit it, you can just open it up manually.
