Excel files linking in SharePoint document libraries

I am trying to migrate my file share to SharePoint 2010. Problem is - my existing file share contains excel files where in it is having link to other files. Say I have 1 master file which is having link to 10 other transaction files. Any change in transaction files are reflected in the master excel file.

We are not planning to migrate the logic from the excel files to sharepoint. My Problem is the transaction excel files needs to be restructured as per a particular structure.

say I have Shared Documents Library - within the root I have placed my Master.xls and the subfolders are created say Tran1,Tran2 and so on. each Transaction folder contains tran1_File.xls and so on.

When editing the master excel file - by enabling the links for the content. It throws and error of cannot find reference to the transaction file with the subfolder path.

From the looks of the error what I understood is - it is trying to locate the transaction file also at the same path where master file is located.

Question is : Is there any way OOB or custom to make master file understand the route of the new path of the transaction files without manually updating the file link source.
