Can't open Sharepoint 2010 word document from hyperlink

I've already got Open Documents In Client Application feature on, and turned on for all libraries.

Also, I don't want to have to restore/reset IE settings for all of the users having problems with this.

I'm wondering if there's a IE setting, or add-on, or Office setting which is causing this.

Additional info: IRM is applied to all documents and all documents have an InfoPath form attached.
