Is it possible to nest SELECT statements?

I’m transiting from SQL server 2012 express to SQL server 2014 express.

If I interpreted results from execution plan correctly, your solution of the particular problem is about 4.5 times faster than any other presented in this thread. Moreover, it’s far more clear, very intuitive, and easy to understand.
