How can I make my class not be NULL?

Look at the "Debug" menu. you should find the "Step Into", "Step Over", and "Step Out" items.

Also, the toolbar has buttons for each of those "steps". Hover the mouse cursor over the

buttons at the left of the lower button bar and read the tooltips.
