Hi Nichesl,
You said you tried to open the sub-report alone, and preview it, and that worked fine? Is your report being cached or ran from a snapshot? I've had circumstances when I was previewing a report, and it linked to another report that was modified, but the snapshot still was the old version and the parameter was missing then.
Make sure you clear/refresh the cache/snapshot if you have it for the subreport.
