HOW DO I ADD A SYMBOL TO A DASH PATTERN

I think it’s impossible. Because the DashPattern property was an array of float Struct. You could not add a string in it. You should use DrawString method. See http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/system.drawing.graphics.drawstring.aspx for how to use.
