To make it simple,
Select Col1, Col2, Col3, (Col4 of row 1), (Col4 of row 2), (Col4 of row 3).....
from table a
The inline views I am wanting to use serve the purpose of pulling the Col4 values from the different rows into distinct columns.
That is exactly what Visakh's query is doing. Could you explain why that approach won't work for you?
